Winter isn’t nice to your skin. The cold wind, dry air, hotter showers and blasting the heat in your car are just some of the things that can take a toll. The cold is harsh and unforgiving, so you have to give your skin a boost each day to prepare it for mother nature’s blustery winter months.
This year I’m adding something new to my morning routine: a line of lotions and creams that moisturize and repair from AmLactin.

On My Feet, Elbows, Knees and Hands
When there’s dry, rough skin – who do you call? AmLactin Ultra Hydrating Body Cream. This super thick moisturizing cream is full of humectants. What are those? Molecules with a specific job: to keep things moist. I use it anywhere that tends to get rough. As soon as I get out of the shower, I cover my heels, elbows and knees in AmLactin Ultra to ensure they are soft and moisturized all through the day.
All Over Moisture & Exfoliation
My next step is applying AmLactin Alpha-Hydroxy Therapy Lotion. Not only does it deliver a powerful hydrating punch and pH-balance, but it also gently exfoliates with 12% lactic acid. It’s great for areas that tend to be dull or typically ignored like arms, neck and chest; encouraging cell renewal for soft, healthy skin.
So how does AmLactin fit in with my morning routine?

Casual Day at Home Routine
- Warm shower with an exfoliating natural fruit oil scrub and Amore Pacific Foaming Facial Cleanser. I always pat my skin dry instead of rubbing.
- AmLactin Ultra on feet, knees, elbows and hands.
- AmLactin Moisturizing Body Lotion everywhere else. I love how it leaves my skin soft but without a greasy feel afterwards.
- Amore Pacific Foaming Face Wash – gift from heaven above. Just try it once. You’ll be hooked.
- Kiehl’s Cucumber Herbal Toner – This fresh toner is wonderful for dry skin, and without the harsh chemicals of other brands.
- Eslor Firming Collagen Day Cream – This day facial cream is absolutely wonderful. After just a few weeks use, my skin is tighter and I look less ‘tired’ all the time.

If I’m Going Out & About
If I’m setting off for the day I add a few more tools to my skincare arsenal. While I don’t wear makeup every day, there are a few staples that I always grab. First I apply Baby Skin from Maybelline. This is a fast way to get a smooth, velvet finish for my skin and prepare for L’Oreal’s BB Cream. I’ve tried several other BB creams and this one, by far, is my favorite. It’s like instead of cakey, goes on even smoother than foundation and also comes in an anti-redness formula to even out your skin tone. Next is my trusty Burt’s Bees lip balm in pomegranate followed by any needed touch ups with e.l.f. Mineral Blemish Powder. I finish it all off with e.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set and out the door I go!
