I have a confession. I have Blogger’s Elbow. Right now you’re either thinking, “You mean I’m not the only one?!” …or…”What on earth is Blogger’s Elbow?”. If you’re one of the latter then let me explain. Blogger’s Elbow is an annoying affliction that results from sitting in the same position at your desk day after day. If you favor one elbow over the other it’s horrible on your skin. If you have one of those nifty, textured desk mats it’s even worse.
Several days a week, several hours per day, my elbow sits right there. I have dry skin to begin with so that constant friction wreaks havoc. The result is only on that one arm and not pleasant. This is where being a Carmex Blogger really comes in handy…or elbow-y? Carmex sent me their new Healing Cream and Healing Lotion to try out and share my opinions with you guys. It was perfect timing. After using the Carmex Healing Cream on my elbow for one week I was happy with the results.
Yes, I’m pale. Let’s move along! No miracles of course (I have yet to find a lotion that repairs skin instantly. We can dream, right?), but there’s no denying that my elbow did experience some healing. The redness was what I noticed the most – and the soothing. You can see from the first image that my elbow was actually cracking. That does not feel good. But, by the end of the trial week, the discomfort (and obvious cracking) was gone. Considering this is a skin irritation that happens every day with no chance to let my skin repair on it’s own (that would mean I have to stop working at my desk….not happening) I think the Carmex Healing Cream is doing a pretty good job of maintenance. I found that the Healing Lotion is slightly thinner and absorbs faster; making it better suited for areas that aren’t as damaged like arms and legs after showering etc.
