I love cosmetics. My fascination goes beyond eye shadow and lipstick and even into brush sets, toners, concealers and more. I admit it: I don't go out for the day without at least some mascara and lip gloss. However, I'm not very daring. I use earth tones, soft pinks and other color schemes that – while enhancing my features – don't really stand out. Revlon asked me to push that limit with the Revlon Expression Experiment.
The Revlon Expression Experiment is a challenge for women to step out of their everyday makeup habits and try something new, bright and exciting. It's an inspiration to move out of your cosmetic comfort zone and get a little creative. Revlon will be offering monthly challenges on their Facebook page: Red Lipstick, Perfect Canvas, Bright Eyes and Daring Nails. I received a set of Revlon products so I could take part in these challenges and share my results, and thoughts, with you.

Bright Eyes & Red lipstick Challenge
Perfect Canvas Challenge
Summertime means more time in the sun and outside activities. That also means your foundation might have a hard time keeping up with you! Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer and PhotoReady Eye Primer can help keep your face looking fresh all day. I was happy to see that the Revlon primers are silicone based; that's the type of primer I prefer because it works better (and longer) than a soy based primer. Their foundation primer works so well that it even improves the look of your skin without makeup – reducing fine lines and shine.
The PhotoReady Eye Primer was also a great find. It really brightens up your eyes while preparing them for some gorgeous color. One word of advice: Do NOT use the brush directly on your skin. There is a metal tube in the middle of it and it WILL scratch you. Instead, place some on your finger and then apply.

Daring Nail Challenge
I have to admit – I wasn't so happy with the results of the Daring Nail Challenge. I'm a French manicure type of girl. If I had to pick one nail polish color that I least enjoy wearing it would be orange. But I did like the staying and protecting power of the Revlon Colorstay base and top coat nail polish. I've never used a base coat before – but I may have to start now thanks to this challenge.

Overall I have really enjoyed experimenting with Revlon. The great thing about this brand is that you can find it just about anywhere and, if you don't like your experiment, it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Affordable cosmetics for fun and new looks – a great project for the summer!
