I never remember my lipstick. It doesn’t matter where I’m going or how long I took to get ready – I always forget my lipstick. If I’m lucky I’ll dig around and find some lip balm, but that doesn’t quite cut it when I’m going from afternoon errands to evening dinner with my husband (and have been ‘blessed’ with unbelievably pale lips). If you’ve considered buying two of each item in your makeup arsenal (like me), then you might be interested in GlamPact.

In this little case is a full makeup task force. Lip color, powder, bronzer, eyeliner, blush, eye shadow and a full set of application tools. See that nifty usb cord? That’s to charge the lighted mirror for touch-ups after dark.

Normally when I buy a bronzer I only use it once and that’s in the privacy of my bathroom before I toss it in the trash. This pale skinned chick would need to use it over her entire body to escape the appearance of having previously dove face-first into a bag of Cheetos. I was thrilled to see a bronzer that was finally a warm, yet natural, skin tone subtle enough for even my ‘girl from The Grudge’ skin.

As of right now, there is only one color pallet. It’s a combination of soft pinks, a touch of coral and muted, earthy brown. Even the darkest lip color still has an antique rose tint instead of the bright red you typically see.

The set has a slide out compartment at the base which holds 3 brushes, 1 blush brush and an extra, dual sided application sponge. Another perk of the GlamPact is that you won’t find any cheap tools here. No more bristles floating down on your nose or in your eye when you apply your makeup. Also included is a stylus to help you switch out your color trays when they need to be replaced.

So how are the colors?

The powder is very sheer – perfect for touching up shine without too much of a matte finish. The bronzer is a soft, neutral brown with no orange or yellow undertones. Both are easily blended for quick application.

When it comes to the other colors it’s more of a light touch up than a full on color change. As you can see from the lip colors (above) ‘subtle’ is the key phrase. Both tints would be great for revitalizing your daytime or work look. The plumper works gently to give your lips a fuller appearance and, luckily, without that pins and needles tingle you often get from other brands. I’m still on the fence about the choice of “Eat Me” as a lip color…

The area I’d most like to see improved is the blush. As you can see from the photo, even on my pale skin, it wasn’t very pigmented. Of course, this is probably adjustable according to how hard you press your brush into the color, but then you have the problem of excess blush dust drifting onto your clothes as you apply it (not to mention using up your blush much faster). This photo also shows, in comparison, how well the bronzer performs – warming your skin without that garish fake tan effect.

The most unique aspect of the GlamPact, and what sets it apart from other portable compacts, is the rechargeable, lighted mirror.  It’s easy enough to touch up your lip color or eyeliner in the light from your car’s visor mirror, but what if you’re in a dimly lit bathroom or just sitting in a booth at the restaurant? GlamPact gives you light no matter where you are – and a good deal of it as you can see from the photo below, taken in the evening with only a small desk lamp nearby.

I so love this! I have to try it. I don’t wear a lot of makeup, mostly because I don’t know where to start but this looks like it’s “pretty” fool-proof. Like!
