Now that I’m settling into my healthy eating plan, I knew it was time to rekindle my love affair with the gym. I took a hiatus (aka felt like being lazy) for two months. So, my goal of losing 35 pounds by April 31st is pretty much shot. While eating paleo has lowered my weight slowly (6 pounds in 3 weeks), I’m going to have to bring on the pain so I can meet my new goal of 30 pounds by July.

The Last Thirty: Gym Time and Wellness Brewed
In order to do this the right way I need to remember a few things.
1. Don’t Starve Myself – I have a really bad habit of skipping meals. Thanks to my flawed perception that reducing quantity is more effective than increasing quality – I need to retrain myself. And quick.
2. Exercise the Right Way – Just lifting a few weights and pushing through an hour on the treadmill won’t hurt me and I might lose a few pounds. But if I want to really make the best use of my time and get a quick (yet still safe) result I need to learn how to work my body. Everything matters, from the number of days you work out to the order in which you do each exercise.
3. Keep Eating Clean – I’ve tried more diets than I can count. If you eat nothing but cabbage soup for a month you’re going to lose weight – there’s no doubt. But, Paleo is the first eating lifestyle that has reduced my weight AND made me feel better. I’m not tired, I’m not hungry, previous mood swings are dissipating, I sleep better and my IBS is gone (except that night I cheated and ate pizza. Wow, that was ugly).
4. Hydrate, Hydrate and Hydrate Some More – I hate water. I think I’ve said that before. I still hate water, but I’m slowly working my way into it by cutting out soda and drinking water based, healthier beverages. I know, I know ‘pure water is best’. Hi, this is me hating water. My go-to drink for home and gym is Vitamin Burst. I can pop one in my Keurig and in a few seconds I have 8 oz of hydration ready to go. The fact that they taste delicious helps me consume more. The fact that they are all natural and sweetened with Stevia means I don’t have to worry about trading chemicals for weight loss.

Vitamin Burst comes in Acai Berry and Strawberry Pomegranate. Each K-cup contains natural dried fruit, Beta-Carotene for color, Stevia for sweetness and Vitamins C, B3, B5, B6 and B12 to power your perfect machine throughout the day.

Yes, I’m a Green Mountain Coffee ambassador and yes this post is inspired by that connection. But even if I wasn’t – I’d still drink Vitamin Burst K-cups. Holy cow…are you kidding? These things are awesome.
