Here’s To The Unsinkable, Unbreakable, #UnstoppableMoms

I wrote this post as part of my participation in a blog tour for The Motherhood on behalf of the makers of Children’s MOTRIN® and received compensation to thank me for taking the time to participate. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

My mom is one tough lady. I’ve written about her before and it’s still hard to put into words just how much I watched her do, provide, prepare and more while I was growing up. Between my brother and I, running several businesses and a household to keep together – I’m amazed she didn’t run screaming into the hills.

I censored the chewed food I had in my mouth. Do you see what my mother had to put up with??

Did I mention she also has seven grandchildren? Yet, she always manages to keep it under control. I’m lucky enough to have learned a few things from her over the years, both directly and indirectly (though, she’d probably say I missed a few lessons as well).

It’s Okay To Say No

As moms, we’re constantly in demand. From your child’s science project (that they didn’t tell you about until the night before) to the PTA bake sale and their request for 200 cupcakes by Wednesday. When you find yourself becoming overwhelmed with requests and demands, take a moment to prioritize. Science project? Top of the list. Helping set up the Little League snack stand for the third weekend in a row? Give yourself permission to put that at the bottom of the list.

Ask For Help

Just because moms can do it all doesn’t mean we have to. On days you have too much on your plate – start delegating. Dad can run to the store with the grocery list. Your teenager can help move the donation boxes to the basement. And even your younger child can help put laundry in the basket or take (drag) it to the laundry room. Asking for help from the family doesn’t make you less of a super mom, it makes you smart. Bonus: everything is done faster and you can all enjoy some time together.

I’m sure you have some great tips you’ve learned from your mother, grandmother and other women in your family. Maybe you have some awesome insider mom tricks you developed on your own as well. But, even then, sometimes we need to come together with other moms to get new insight and ideas. Even #UnstoppableMoms can still learn something new!

About the Unstoppable Moms Program

The makers of Children’s MOTRIN® are inspired by all the things Moms do, from quick family meals to keeping the kids entertained on rainy days. Moms may not always realize it, but they are amazing in so many ways. Moms are on call day and night and have so much unique knowledge that can really help other moms. That’s why the makers of Children’s MOTRIN® are asking moms to share this knowledge in the form of tips and tricks that help keep them going.

The makers of Children’s MOTRIN® are asking Moms to post their tips and tricks to the MOTRIN® Facebook page under each week’s Kelly Ripa question video and for every post, Children’s MOTRIN® will donate $1 to Safe Kids Worldwide, a global nonprofit that provides moms with the tips they need to help keep their children safe.  Moms could even win weekly giveaways of $100 gift cards just for posting.*

Next Topic Starts SEPTEMBER 29: So all moms know that breakfasts can be a bit tricky during hectic morning routines. What are some of your quick, on-the-go breakfast solutions for your family? Your tip could win you a $100 gift card!
