Our Little Pumpkin Tradition

By -

Our fall pumpkin tradition doesn’t involve carving or painting. Instead, we each pick out our favorite small pumpkin and then set them on our front porch – representing our little family. We always go to our local farmer market, Howe’s, so we can grab a few treats and veggies while we’re there.

Howe’s keeps most of their big pumpkins in the giant greenhouse. I love the way they set it up each year.

This year Nana went with us. She and Little Man had so much fun picking out the best pumpkins they could find. Apparently sniffing them is also part of the process.

Little Man definitely found a pumpkin he wanted… but it was a little too big for our porch rail.

As soon as I saw the white pumpkins I knew which one I would be taking home.

The only thing he picked out faster than his pumpkin was his treat: a home made caramel apple. Yum! They also had fresh whoopie pies, muffins, tarts, fudge and more. I wanted one of each, but thankfully I stayed strong.

He didn’t realize he was standing next to our town’s prize winning pumpkin – almost 980 pounds!

I hope everyone has a wonderful fall and a very spooky Halloween!
