Like so many families – we are huge Monsters Inc and Disney/Pixar fans. We’ve been gearing up to go see Monsters University, so when Collective Bias asked me to show how we have a fun day with the Monster crew – we jumped at the chance. We knew if we were going to have a Monster Day then we had to have some awesome Monster-themed ‘guests’ and treats. We headed out to local Walmart to grab some supplies and check out their cool Monsters University toy section [click HERE to see our fun shopping trip on our Google+ Album].

Little Man was a little overwhelmed when he saw all the Monsters University toys – it was a hard decision (I think I made it worse when I said, “Pick whichever one you want”). There were action figures, interactive toys and even full play sets. But, in the end, little Man picked the My Scare Pal Sulley (‘so I can scare daddy’ he said). When we got home it was time to make a Monster Treat – but we decided Sulley needed some hugs and playtime first.

Little Man and Sulley played so much that they got super thirsty. It was time to make my little monsters a special treat. We all love juices and have them almost every day, so I decided we’d make Super Monster Smoothies! I hear it’s what all the young Monster college students have after a long day in class.
Super Monster Smoothie
This one is so easy and tasty! The kids will not only love drinking it, but they can help you with some parts of the prep as well.
- Juicy Juice Pure Apple Juice
- 1.5 cups Honeydew, cubed
- 2 cups fresh baby spinach
- 5 oz (snack cup) vanilla Greek Yogurt
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 medium carrots - juiced
- Whipped cream
- Fill 2 - 3 ice cube trays with Juicy Juice Apple Juice and freeze
- Place honeydew, spinach, yogurt, honey and frozen apple juice cubes in blender
- Blend on high until smooth
- Use fresh carrot juice to drizzle or swirl into smoothie to make it a crazy monster mix and top with whipped cream
Juicy Juice 100% All Nature Juice
I love using Juicy Juice for snack time, on the go and in recipes like this one. The Apple juice contains: Apple Juice from concentrate, vitamin C, citric acid and….oh wait…that’s all! I can remember when I was young, my little bother had a corn syrup allergy and Juicy Juice was one of the very first juice brands to provide drinks without corn syrup. It was a part of my childhood and now it’s a part of my children’s snack and meal time.

Isn’t Mike so cute peeking around that label? Okay…not quite as cute as Sulley. But, Mike has great news! For a limited time, when you buy Monsters University Juicy Juice products, you can enter the Juicy Juice Monster-Sized Sweepstakes on juicyjuice.com by redeeming product codes found on each partnered item you buy. With our bottle of Juicy Juice we won a Monster Phone Call for Little Man! There are several instant win prizes available, but the grand prize is a family trip to Pixar Studios and a $5,000 cash scholarship!! You’re entered to win the grand prize each time you redeem an instant win code.
I know I…I mean Little Man…would love to win a trip to Pixar Studios! So well be checking our codes each time we get a new jug of Juicy Juice. But, for now, I think he’s just as happy playing with his new friend.
