I can’t believe it….my baby starts preschool in a week. Seems like just yesterday I was picking out cute bottles and bibs. Now, I’ve picked out his first lunch box.

While I’m definitely looking forward to covering my fridge in drawings and letter practice sheets, I did have a few worries. One of them was lunch. Little Man is, shall we say, ‘picky’ about the whole eating experience. “DON’T LET MY FOOD TOUCH! I DON’T WANT THAT SANDWICH – IT’S MUSHED UP! MY GRAPES AREN’T COLD! WHY AREN’T MY GRAPES COLD?!” (He’s a sweetheart, I swear, but he’s a die hard purist when it comes to his food). At home those things can be avoided, but what about when I start packing a lunch for school?
Just in time, Rubbermaid asked me to try their new line of LunchBlox Kids lunch sets. Stackable, chilled, separated lunch kits just the right size for a child’s lunch box…hmmm…this might be the answer I was looking for.
Rubbermaid’s LunchBlox Kids kits offer Lunch Perfectly Packed with containers that snap together to save space in their lunch bag. The lids are leak-proof, but Little Man had no trouble opening them without help. He can eat his lunch first and keep a snack for later in one of the smaller blocks. He loves setting them out like his own, personal buffet.
Sets come in two stacking styles: Tall (for upright lunch bags) and Flat (for horizontal lunch bags and boxes) with two color combinations: blue, orange and green or pink, green and purple.
There is also a Blue Ice tray that stacks in the middle or on the bottom to help keep their snacks chilled while at school. With the different sizes, you can use a variety of foods without worrying that they’ll be smashed or mix together before they are eaten. That is…IF the lunch sticks around that long…
