I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Soundfreaq. I received a Soundfreaq Sound Platform 2 to facilitate my review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Having a three year old means that my driving tunes consist of Kids Bop and Sesame Street soundtracks. I never seemed to have a moment to listen to my favorite music any more. I’d tried using my phone, but the volume was never right and if you have kids you know that headphones during the day are not an option. When Mom Central asked if I’d like to check out the Soundfreaq Sound Platform 2 and make my music more accessible and portable I was hoping it would be a great way to get back into my musical groove. I wasn’t disappointed.

The truth is – I feel in love with the Sound Platform 2 and was more than happy to tell everyone. Turns out – I’m not the only one.

I’d tried other, smaller speaker systems for my phone. Unfortunately most were wired so I couldn’t carry my phone around. Or they were too small to do much good anywhere besides sitting on my desk. We throw tons of get-togethers and bbqs during the summer so I wanted something portable and loud enough for our guests to enjoy.

What You’ll Love:
- Powerful Sound – The sound range is excellent; from soft for indoors while you work to booming for an outside summer bash. But Soundfreaq doesn’t stop at just volume. It features rich deep bass, acoustic tuning and tone control. Not only will you hear your music loud and crystal clear – but you’ll hear it the way it was meant to sound.
- Portable – The Sound Platform 2 is large enough to accent your decor and take it’s place as an official part of your electronics collection, but light enough that you can easily pick it up and move it where ever you want. We tried it out for our 4th of July party by placing it on the patio outside. It took only a few minutes to set up and we had perfect stereo sound all night.
- Keep Your Phone – Unlike smaller, more limited speakers – Sound Platform2 is no strings attached. Once you sync your phone to the speaker via Bluetooth you are free to roam where you please, phone in hand or pocket. If you’re in another room and you don’t like the song playing – just flip through to another on your phone without stopping what you’re doing. If you get a call or text while you’re playing your tunes – the music will stop so you can concentrate on the task at hand.
- Device Freedom – Why stop with just your phone? Pair your iPhone, iPad, iPod, Android or Blackberry device. No special directions – just pair and play. You can even stream from your Mac or Windows PC.
- More Than MP3s – Stream YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, podcasts, audio books, your favorite apps and more. You can also listen to FM radio right from the unit.
- Stay Charged – Another downside to other speakers I’ve tried is that they draw their power FROM my phone. Good luck having a whole day of listening when the battery is slowly dying. The Sound Platform 2 POWERS your phone with two easy to use USB ports on the back of the unit. Slide the charger cord through to the front phone tray and you’ve got a listening station and docking station in one.
What I’d Love to See:
- A Handle – Yes, just a handle. While the Sound Platform 2 is very light, I’d love to be able to pick it up more easily with one hand.
- A Vertical Model – While having a horizontal model fits with my personal choice of where to place the unit, I have seen a few comments about how it would be nice if it took up less room.

The Soundfreaq Sound Platform 2 retails for $149.99. You can purchase two units for twice the sound for $249.99
