It seems like everywhere you turn, men and women are searching for someone they have things in common with. My husband and I were married many years ago, but I remember learning all of the subtle (and not so subtle ways) we differ. When it came time for our wedding, the gifts were amazing – and most often aimed at something that joined us together. Recently, Target asked me to express the wonderful facets of my marriage with the Be Yourself, Together challenge and Target. My mission? I immediately thought of our workout habits. My husband is more of an outdoors person. He loves walking, running and riding. I know he would love to burn his calories on a Schwinn Legacy Cruiser. They have a classic bike feel and come in several colors for both men and women.
Now me, on the other hand, I’m not so much about the sun and the bugs and the dirt. I’m a gym girl. I like grabbing my sweats and heading to my local fitness center. But, before I get going on pumping the iron, I have a protein shake or fruit smoothie to rev my engine. Right now I shake my …shakes… in a plastic jug. Yes, really. So my perfect gift would be the Magic Bullet blender system. Oh man, I can see it now – a few quick pulses and I’d have the best morning shakes ever!
Truth be told, I think my husband would want to share my Magic Bullet (while he doesn’t have to worry at all that I’d take his bike out for a spin). But that’s okay because even our differences can overlap into similarities. It’s the beauty of blending two lives.
