Since writing about my personal experience with electronic cigarettes I’ve had a lot of great feedback and questions. I wanted to address some of them here AND share a great deal on a leading eCig brand.

• Do you have any side effects from using an eCigarette?
  This is probably the top question I get. In a nutshell: no. I don’t have headaches, coughing, congestion or any other negative symptom. You may get a dry mouth from time to time, but it’s temporary (just grab a sip of water). Some people report a slight allergic reaction to the PG version of eCig juice (light itching is the most typical reaction). That is easily fixed (or avoided) by ordering a strictly VG juice instead. Most companies that sell refillable cartridges provide the two options.
• Is it expensive?
  While you do have to invest in your first kit (anywhere from $30 – $80 depending on brand and features), the upkeep and refill costs of using an eCig are far less than smoking analog (traditional) cigarettes. My supplies average $20 per month. You will occasionally have to replace hardware like batteries, charger etc. But that is usually no more than 2 – 3 times per year.
• Does it taste like a cigarette?
  If you order tobacco flavored juice – yes. You decide what you want your vape juice to taste like. Right now I have one that tastes like Juicy Fruit.
• Would it bother someone who doesn’t like to be around cigarettes?
  My husband hates cigarettes with a passion and I can vape in the car next to him and it doesn’t bother him at all.
• Are there any down sides to switching?
  I don’t think there are any. But, for some people it may be more work. An eCigarette must be charged, cleaned, refilled etc. It’s more work than just lighting a cigarette. And you have to keep up with your supplies; you can’t just run down to the gas station and buy more if you run out.
