Some of you may remember that I’ve been using an electronic cigarette system for over two years now. In that time I’ve come across several brands, methods and options. After trial and error I finally chose a modified system for myself, but when eCigaretteReviewed contacted me and asked if I’d like to try out their starter kit I thought it might be quite valuable to share. Not everyone knows the ins and outs of eCigs and you have to start somewhere. A prepacked starter set is a great first step.
This post was created in partnership with eCigaretteReviewed.com - I was compensated for my time. All opinions expressed are my own.

V2 Cigs offers starter packs in several sizes to fit your needs. Prices range from $24.95 to $159.95 and you can find a full list of kits HERE. For the purpose of this review, I was sent additional items in a custom kit. Please check the contents of each kit before you purchase to make sure you get exactly what you need.
In My Review Kit:
- (1) Automatic 510 Battery
- (5) prefilled cartridges – V2 “Red” 18 Full (1.8% Nicotine)
- (5) prefilled cartridges – V2 “Sahara” 18 Full (1.8% Nicotine)
- V2 10 Flavor cartridge sampler – 12 Medium (1.2% Nicotine)
- Charger duo – USB charger and wall adapter
- User’s Manual

Let’s cut to the chase – Is a V2 kit right for you? My answer: it depends. I know, that’s not the answer you were looking for. So, let’s go through some pros and cons.
Pros:
- Selection – if you’ve shopped around and not found a kit that was exactly what you were looking for, V2 will give you more selection. While many companies offer 2 – 3 kits, V2 gives you 8 different packages to choose from. They also offer harder to find items all in one place like continuously powered ‘pass-through’ batteries and portable charging cases. You can also purchase prefilled carts, refill carts, bulk eJuice and more. While other companies specialize in just one method of eCigs, forcing you to make several purchases over several websites, V2 offers you a one-stop shop for most of your vaping needs.
- Good Vapor Production – While a mod or refill eCig will give you the heaviest vapor production, I found the V2 does very well for an automatic 510.
- Good Battery Life – I found that the V2 charges quickly and lasts longer than many similar sets I’ve tried. V2 counts up to 300 puffs per charge, but I couldn’t tell you exactly how many puffs I take. What I can tell you is that I vape heavily at my desk during the day and I never found myself cursing because the power died before I had a chance to charge it. Purchasing a second battery will also make things easier so that you can charge one while you use the other.
- Realistic Cigarette Feel – Unlike tank or mod systems, the V2 looks and feels like a real cigarette in your hand. For many smokers this helps ease the transition from traditional cigarettes.
- Portable – Because the assembled battery and cartridge is the same size as a traditional cigarette it’s very easy to put in your purse, pocket or bag and carry with you. Using prefilled cartridges is also handy so that you don’t have to worry about leaks or filling your eJuice away from home.

Cons:
- Price – While V2 does offer a great selection of kits, the pricing is a bit high for a 510 system and much higher than many refillable atomizer or mod systems.
- Hard Pull – The automatic battery (inhale to activate) requires a priming ‘pull’ (inhale) and then much harder subsequent pulls for full activation. It’s a bit labored and takes getting use to.
- Flavor – V2 prefilled carts come in a limited assortment. The flavors offered are appealing (‘Mint Tea’ was a nice surprise), but still retain a ‘cigarette taste’. This is another con that may end up being a pro for some people. If you need that cigarette taste for the vape to be satisfying then this may help, rather than hinder, you. If, like me, you prefer a fully flavored vape with no nicotine aftertaste, then these might not be the cartridges for you.
- Nicotine Levels - If you are a casual to regular smoker, the maximum of 1.8% nicotine will be enough. However, former heavy or chain smokers who require higher levels (I use 2.4%) may find themselves vaping more often which results in higher cost to replace cartridges.
Final Thoughts:
V2 eCig kits are a great place to start. They the easiest to use for those not familiar with how eCigs work, don’t require additional upkeep or maintenance found with more advanced methods, offer affordable ‘starter’ kits for those experimenting with eCigs and provide a portable method for people on the go. I do believe anyone who continues to vape for an extended period of time will need to switch to a more advanced system in the future. But, if you are still unsure if eCigs will work for you – the V2 systems are good investment.
My opinion is just that: mine. So if you’re still unsure about a V2 system you can find more reviews on v2 cigs online. If you do decide to go with V2 kit, make sure to take advantage of the v2 cigs discount code.
